Harris throws no-hitter in rout of Santa Barbara

Hannah Harris blanked Santa Barbara for her first ever no-hitter.

Dos Pueblos’ Hannah Harris threw the first no-hitter of her career on Tuesday to help defeat Santa Barbara 11-0.

The pitcher recorded 14 strikeouts and averaged just over 10 pitches per innings. She retired every Santa Barbara batter in 74 pitches, 60 of which were strikes.

Harris’ stellar pitching over the past several games has built up to this performance and is a big reason why Dos Pueblos has won its last nine games. She was also aided by her defense, which had a flawless day and committed no errors.

In addition to the pitching milestone, Harris went 2-for-3 at the plate with two runs scored.

Kai Uyesaka had a spectacular game at the plate, going 4-4 and scoring three runs. Haley Peterson also hit the ball well and went 3-4 with four RBIs, while Agnetta Cleland went 2-3 with two RBIs.

Dos Pueblos (18-2 overall, 8-2 Channel League) will continue its season tomorrow at home against Camarillo, the reigning CIF Division II champions.
