Final race leads Royals to a one-point victory

The San Marcos boys track and field team edged out Dos Pueblos by one point on Thursday with their 4×4 as the last event on the Chargers’ track. Cole Erickson, Victor Sanchez, Cameron Cruikshank and David McBride made up the team that clinched the Royals victory with a time of 3:29.65.

“It was a really exciting meet that came down to the last race,” said DP coach Leslie Roth.”Unfortunately we were on the losing end of it.”

However, all wasn’t lost for the Chargers whose girls team managed to beat out the Royals 82 to 45.
