San Marcos brings several strong finishers to the Oakland Invitational

The San Marcos High track team brought 26 athletes to Berkely, California to compete in the Oakland Invitational.

The Royals fought through harsh weather conditions to earn impressive finishes in several different events.

In the girls events, Rocio Pacheco finished third in the 3200 meters with a personal-best time of 11:42. Kaitlyn Kuehn also had a personal-best time to finish third in the mile with a time of 5:26.

The team of Kaylin Koopmans, Annie Thwing, Ashley Carney, and Jill Fisher finished second in the 4×400 meter relay with a time of 4:12.

The highlight of the boys competition was the team of Davey McBride, Joe Dodson, Cole Erickson, and Victor Sanchez, who finished third in the 4×400 with a time of 3:33.

The Royals will bring selected athletest to the Arcadia Invitational next weekend.
