Sam Garza talks to MLSsoccer.com about starting his professional career, his recovery from a serious knee injury two years ago and playing the last two seasons at UCSB.
Garza decided to forego his senior season and signed a Generation adidas contract. He is noted for his tremendous technical skills on the ball and his ability to beat players on the dribble.
On playing for UCSB, Garza said: “The games were so fun. We averaged 5,000 fans a game, and obviously they do get more in the MLS, but the atmosphere there was magical. You score, you have fans throwing tortillas on the field, and obviously that’s something I’m going to miss a lot. I’m going to miss the entirety of Santa Barbara, miss pretty much everything, but the most is the games.
