Dons come from behind to get convincing victory

After falling a goal behind, the Santa Barbara High girls soccer team came back to defeat Moorpark 3-1 at home.

Katie Josef broke through with the team’s first goal in the 55th minute. Jackie Lopez grabbed the lead in the 65th minute, and just three minutes later, Megan Flynn put the game out of reach.

The Santa Barbara back four was organized and focused and showed no signs of letting Moorpark back into the game once the Dons had the lead.

Daniel Smith had an excellent work rate up top, as she chased down and put pressure on Moorpark’s defense in her team’s impressive come-from-behind victory.

Santa Barbara (3-1-1) will continue its season at home against Santa Paula on Thursday.
