Former Santa Barbara High great Randall Cunningham will be the focus of Sunday’s halftime festivities at Veterans Stadium in Philadelphia, as the Eagles are honoring their popular quarterback.

The Eagles have been recognizing the franchise’s best players this season. Cunningham played 11 seasons with Philadelphia.

Cunningham, who graduated from Santa Barbara High in 1981, was also the subject of an ESPN E:60 episode that aired on ESPN on Tuesday.

During his NFL career, Cunningham racked up 4,928 rushing yards which was an NFL record until this year when Michael Vick surpassed him. He was named to the Pro Bowl four times in a 16-year NFL career, which ended with his retirement in 2001.

Cunningham, now 48 years old and living in Las Vegas, has a nephew, Cheroke Cunningham, currently carrying on the family tradition playing at Santa Barbara High for the Dons.
