Alex Rodriguez’s four touchdowns helped lift Carpinteria over Grace Brethren 40-33 in a non-conference football game on Friday night, as the senior tailback rushed for 135 yards on the night.
Gustavo Arreola’s 47-yard scoring reception in the fourth quarter gave the Warriors a 40-26 lead. Grace got a touchdown back thanks to quarterback Reggie Reed, but Carpinteria (4-1) recovered an onside kick and ran out most of the clock.
Carpinteria sophomore quarterback Ian Craddock connected with Arreola and Rodriguez for a pair of TD throws. Rodriguez scored once through the air and three times on the ground. Rodriguez’s longest touchdown run was for 32 yards.
Grace Brethren falls to 3-2 on the year.
The Warriors finish their preseason and travel to Fillmore for their Tri-Valley League opener next Friday.
