Chargers edged out in first game of Pal Tournament
The Dos Pueblos boys water polo team was defeated by the narrowest of margins in its first game at the Pal Tournament in Orange County, losing to Dana Hills 10-9.Sjors Van Alphen led the team with three goals while Grant Schroeder finished with two.Phillip Bates had a fine game in the goal with 11 saves.The loss places the Chargers in the 5th-8th place bracket and they will continue play in the tournament tomorrow. … [Read more...]

Arianna Wallis is a double-threat for other teams competing in the SSS as she competes in Short and Longboard divisions. She finished last year’s season off strong with a1st place in the highly contested Women’s Shortboard division in Ventura and looks to continue her winning ways in the 2011/12 season. The Dos Pueblos girls tennis team traveled to Valencia and was defeated 14-4.Kate Stratman was the only Charger to finish with a winning record, going 2-1 in the singles.Dos Pueblos is now 10-7 overall and 6-2 in the Channel League. The semi-pro Central Coast Seminoles will open the United Football Alliance League playoffs on Saturday against Gladiators in Orange County. Kickoff is 2 p.m.The Seminoles ended the regular season with a 29-6 win over the Desperados.The Seminoles are in their second season.
