Crane scores first birdie, shoots lowest round in Dons’ win

Alissa Crane shot her lowest score of the year and the Santa Barbara girls golf team rode the momentum of its big win over Dos Pueblos to a victory over Buena on Thursday at the Olivas Links.

The Dons shot 224 to Buena’s 252.

Crane shot a 46, which included her first birdie on hole No. 3.

Isabella Doub sank back-to-back long birdie putts on Nos. 5 and 6 en route to a 1-over par 38 and  match medalist honors. She sank a 60-footer on the first birdie and followed that with a 20-foot putt.

Santa Barbara moves to 11-4 overall and 6-1 in league. The Dons play Ventura on Tuesday at Ojai’s Soule Park for a share of the league title with Dos Pueblos. The match will be played concurrently with the league individual finals.
