Cardinals keep focus, sweep Villanova

Spirit Week is a busy time for the students at Bishop Diego, volleyball coach Jason Donnelly learned.

Donnelly was impressed how his players maintained their focus on Tuesday night in sweeping Villanova, 25-17, 25-8 25-9, in a Tri-Valley League match.

“There’s a lot of things going on in their world,” Donnelly said of his players and activities going on at school. “It’s homecoming and it’s a crazy time at school. For us to stay focused, I’m real proud of that.”

Diana Sleep paced the Cardinals (6-3, 5-2 TVL) with 11 kills and eight digs.

Donnelly praised the defense and passing of Jade Perkins and Greta Rennacker.
