Westmont players earn GSAC weekly honors

Ashley Correa and Lindsey Smith swept Golden State Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week honors for No.18 Westmont (11-5, 6-3 GSAC).Correa, a 5-7 junior forward was named the Offensive Player of the Week while Smith, a 5-9 sophomore goalkeeper earned Defensive Player of the Week honors.The Warriors received the honors after two victories last week. Vaqueros miss qualifying for So Cal Regional

Kristin Discipulo shot 79 and Nicole Bullemer had an 80 on Monday but SBCC fell short in its bid for a Southern Cal Regional berth at the WSC Women’s Golf Championships.Bullemer (81-80--161) took seventh in the 36-hole tourney at par-72 Olivas Park in Ventura. Discipulo and Emily Wisma tied for 10th at 162. UCSB outlasted Pepperdine in an overtime thriller on Sunday, coming from behind to win a grueling match 16-15  at Raleigh Runnels Memorial Pool in Malibu.No. 5 UCSB started the game with a goal from sophomore Scott Bishop with 3:57 remaining in the first quarter. Emily Wisma shot 78 on Sunday and Haley True posted an 80 to lead SBCC to third place after the opening round of the WSC Women’s Golf Championships at par-72 Olivas Park in Ventura.Glendale captured WSC No. 8 with 316 strokes, followed by Canyons (318) and SBCC (322). Lions finish regular season on a winning note

Faith Emerson recorded a double-double to lead Providence Hall to a 25-9, 23-25,25-19, 25-9 win over Orcutt Academy on Saturday.Emerson pounded 13 kills and picked up 11 digs to lead the attack. Canitez leads way in Warriors blowout

Tugce Canitez led Westmont with 16 points in her Westmont debut on Saturday night, helping the Warriors to an easy 92-45 victory over La Sierra in Westmont's season opener.The Warriors, ranked No. 20 in the country to start the season, saw all 12 players score against the Golden Eagles.
