Santa Barbara’s Lakey Peterson has made it to the big leagues of professional surfing.Peterson has earned one the coveted 17 spots on the ASP Women’s World Tour for 2012. The World Tour is the elite professional competition for women.Peterson learned of the selection on Wednesday. After a stalemate in the first quarter, the Carpinteria boys water polo team ran away with the game on the road against Nordhoff. Last Friday’s weather-suspended football game between Carpinteria and Santa Ynez will go in the record book as a victory for Santa Ynez, based on a CIF rule.Santa Ynez was leading 21-0 at halftime of the non-league game at Carpinteria when a thunderstorm rumbled through the area.
