Kiley Neushul scored five goals to lead the U.S. Junior National Team to a 25-2 rout over Germany and a berth in the quarterfinals at the FINA Women’s Junior World Water Polo Championships in Trieste, Italy.

The U.S. will play Hungary on Thursday for a chance to reach the semifinals.

Neushul’s five goals led the Americans, who were coming off a 9-7 loss to Greece in their final group game. Goalie Sami Hill had 10 saves in that match, but it wasn’t enough as the U.S. failed to convert on six of seven player advantage situations.

Neushul and Hill played on CIF championship teams at Dos Pueblos High.

The match against Hungary will be pit the same two teams that met in the Bronze Medal game at the 2009 Junior World Championship in Siberia.  The U.S. won that game 11-8 with Hill and Neushul making key contributions at both ends of the pool.
