Leah Sully had 17 kills, 4 aces, and 18 digs in UCSB's conference victory over Pacific in the Thunderdome on Friday, 25-21, 25-18, 22-25, 25-6.After UCSB dropped the third game, Sully served fifteen straight points to put the Gauchos in control at 15-0 in the deciding fourth set. Visiting Long Beach State scored on a penalty kick 59 seconds into overtime on Friday night to defeat UC Santa Barbara 2-1 in the Big West Conference women's soccer opener for both teams.Shawna Gordon took the PK for the 49ers (8-3-1 overall, 1-0-0 in the Big West) after the Gauchos were whistled for a hand ball inside the penalty box. Dos Pueblos loses lead in fourth quarter

Tim Dominguez gave Rio Mesa the finishing touch on a 17-14 come-from-behind win Friday night over visiting Dos Pueblos. Dominguez, a junior kicker, made a 26-yard field goal as time expired to give the Spartans the victory over the Chargers.Dos Pueblos found the end zone first when Josh Bartley scored on a 1-yard run with 8:44 left in the second quarter. Banas keys 3-1 Vaquero victory

Emily Banas racked up seven of her 17 kills in the fourth set Friday night as SBCC overcame a 20-15 deficit to beat Citrus 26-24 and capture its final nonconference women’s volleyball match 3-1 at the Sports Pavilion. SBCC sophomore Cecilia Instebo placed 30th in 19:56 on Friday in the Southern Cal Preview cross country meet at Guasti Park in Ontario. Kelly Mayer was 46th in 20:17 for the Vaquero women, who finished 16th.
