U.S. swimming star Lezak does things his own way

Fomer UCSB swimming star Jason Lezak is featured in a USA Today story.

At 35, Lezak is the elder on the U.S. team competing at the FINA World Championships in Shanghai, China.

He is known for his stirring anchor relay leg in the 4×100 freestyle relay at the 2008 Olympics, when he caught France’s Alain Bernard in the last 25 meters and out-touched him at the finish. The improbable win kept Michael Phelps on track to win a historic eight gold medals.
