San Marcos football coach Hesselmeyer dies suddenly

Jeff Hesselmeyer led San Marcos to a 4-6 record last year, including a 35-13 victory over Santa Barbara in the "Big Game."

New UCSB baseball coach Andrew Checketts went back to his roots to find an assistant coach.Checketts has hired Eddie Cornejo from UC Riverside and Riverside Community College to join his staff in Santa Barbara. Carly Wopat picked to U.S. team for World Junior Championships
