U.S. swimming star Lezak does things his own way

Fomer UCSB swimming star Jason Lezak is featured in a USA Today story.At 35, Lezak is the elder on the U.S. team competing at the FINA World Championships in Shanghai, China.He is known for his stirring anchor relay leg in the 4x100 freestyle relay at the 2008 Olympics, when he caught France’s Alain Bernard in the last 25 meters and out-touched him at the finish. Seventeen innings of baseball provided for a long day on Sunday, as the Santa Barbara Foresters struggled offensively and split a doubleheader with the visiting Menlo Park Legends. Todd Rogers and Phil Dalhausser were back on top of the FIVB World Tour podium as the local pro beach volleyball team won the Quebec Open in Canada on Sunday.Fittingly, it was an All-American podium in the only international tour event in North America.
