As he pumps iron to get stronger for the shot put in CIF competition, Nick Scarvelis is improving his marks in the discus.The Dos Pueblos senior threw a season-best of 182-11 in a dual meet against Santa Barbara at DP.  The mark puts him in the top 10 in the state. After leading SBCC to the state playoffs in his first season at the helm, Armen Zakarian has been honored as the WSC men’s volleyball co-Coach of the Year.Zakarian, a former SBCC and UCSB standout, shared the award with El Camino’s Richard Blount. Platt just graduated from Laguna Blanca and will be playing at Notre Dame next season.
