Cate drops a tough match to Arroyo Grande

Cate School fell to 0-3 on the boys tennis season with an 11-7  loss to Arroyo Grande in a non-league matchup Tuesday.  All three losses have come against bigger schools.Cate's singles looked solid, led by Blake Mackall who went 2-1 for the day, while Chris Lin and Austin Lokrie  both went 1-2. No. 7 UCLA has too many weapons for UCSB

UCSB was able to bounce back from a tough 12-2 run-rule loss to No. 7 UCLA and take a 3-0 lead in the first inning of game two of Tuesday’s doubleheader, but a big fourth inning from the defending national champions helped the Bruins earn the second win, 10-4. Buchanan puts up a career high in win vs. Brown

In her third to last regular season home game as a Gaucho, senior Claire Buchanan posted a career-high five goals to help No. 14 UC Santa Barbara (17-8) soar over Brown (7-8), 12-5, in a non-conference game held at Campus Pool.The Gauchos wasted no time and got off to a fast start as Buchanan recorded her first goal of the day with less than a minute off the clock. Oregon claims OGIO title, UCSB earns second

Sophomore Kailey Snyder tossed a two-hitter with 12 strikeouts on Tuesday as SBCC routed L.A. Pierce 10-0 in a WSC Gold Division softball game at Woodland Hills.It was the seventh shutout of the year for Snyder (14-2), who also had a run-scoring triple in the sixth. Ruiz holes Goleta City Championship

Johnny Ruiz carded back-to-back rounds of 67 over the weekend to capture this year's Goleta City Championship at Glen Annie Golf Club.Ruiz, a 17-year-old from Carpinteria, was playing at a level all by himself. Munoz, Prophet lead Frontier’s All-League picks

Bishop Diego's Elias Muñoz and Dean Prophet have been given the Frontier League's top postseason distinctions, garnering the Most Valuable Player and Coach of the Year awards for leading the Cardinals to the league title.The Cardinals won the Frontier League with a 9-1 record. Bishop Diego reached the CIF Southern Section finals in Division VI-AA and went on to compete in the State Tournament. Santa Barbara High's baseball team is the Southern Section's new No. 1 squad in Division II, climbing into the top spot with an overall season record of 8-1.The Dons actually took over the No. 1 ranking last week in a set of rankings that were issued late and not reported on by this website.
