Dos Pueblos pushed its baseball win streak to eight games after beating a tough Tucson High team 5-2 at the Chris Moon Memorial Classic at Cherry Field  in Tucson.For the Chargers, it was the second game of the day, and proved to be their biggest win in Arizona so far. Dos Pueblos came back from five runs down to beat Flowing Wells, Ariz.,  17-6  in a 5-inning mercy rule game at the Chris Moon Memorial Classic in Arizona on Thursday.Down five by the third inning, DP began its comeback with five runs in the third. The eight-ranked UCSB men’s volleyball team needed just one win in its final six matches to secure a spot in the MPSF postseason tournament.The Gauchos took care of business Thursday night, beating UC San Diego in straight sets to clinch a spot in the playoffs for the first time since 2007. It didn't take long for Daniel Howell to find redemption on a scorching Thursday afternoon at Pershing Park as SBCC overcame a bizarre fielding play to edge Moorpark 3-2 in a WSC North baseball game. Bishop Diego volleyball swept Malibu on Thursday, starting with a commanding win in the first game, 25-9. The Cardinals finished off the Sharks 25-17, 25-17 in the Tri-Valley League match.Johnny Brand led the way for Bishop Diego with a game-high eight kills and four blocks. Kailey Snyder returned to her hometown in grand style on Thursday, posting two pitching wins and hitting a home run in SBCC's softball sweep of Hancock in Santa Maria. Several Cate School's varsity swimmers had their best times recorded on Thursday in a swim meet against Grace Brethren and St. Bonaventure. Cate's Varsity girls won with a score of 93, while Grace Brethren came in a distant second with 38, and St. Bonaventure in third with 19.
