Bishop falls to Rangers at Brickhouse

A big crowd which included a fan in a banana costume and another in a gorilla suit wasn’t enough to boost the flu-ridden Bishop Diego girls volleyball team to victory on Tuesday, as the Cardinals were swept by visiting Nordhoff 25-19, 25-23, 25-20.

Diana Sleep put away 12 kills and McKenna Hogue added eight, while Greta Rennacker had five aces.

“We didn’t handle the pressure very well tonight… I give a lot of credit to Nordhoff for coming to our home court and beating us,” said coach Erika Lilley.

The Cardinals (3-7) play St. Bonaventure in Thursday’s season finale.
