Horne, Perez score in SBCC’s latest

Kalum Horne and Rodrigo Perez provided the offense on Friday and Yonha Adrabi produced another clean sheet in SBCC’s 2-0 men’s soccer victory over L.A. Mission in Sylmar.

The first-place Vaqueros (12-1-1, 7-0-1), ranked No. 2 in Southern Cal and No. 3 in the state, have won three straight and 11 of their last 12.
Horne took a pass from Juan Sanchez, beat two players and scored in the 25th minute. In the 79th minute, Rodrigo Perez broke through on the right side and beat the goalie up top.

Adrabi, the No. 1 keeper in the state, notched his ninth shutout. He’s allowed just five goals in 1,170 minutes for a 0.38 average.

“It was a workman-like performance,” said coach John Sisterson. “It’s a small field and that didn’t suit us well. The boys played hard and ground out the win.”

SBCC will take on second-place Oxnard (6-1 before Friday’s game) on Tuesday in La Playa Stadium, starting at 7:30 p.m.
