Zylstra, Royals batter Bulldog netters 17-1

Dana Zylstra subbed in at the top singles spot and went 2-0, winning her two sets 6-3 and 6-0, as the San Marcos girls tennis team dominated Buena on Tuesday, 17-1.

“Dana really moved her feet well today and hit her shots with confidence. She’s improving every day,” said coach Jarrod Bradley.

Ally Walters and Kimmie Pepitone subbed in at No. 2 doubles and swept their set 6-0. San Marcos lost only eight games in doubles all day while improving their season set record to 43-22.

“Our doubles did a great job mixing it up today, serving and volleying at times while always being aggressive at the net,” said Bradley.

San Marcos plays Laguna Blanca on Thursday at John Stoney courts (SMHS) at 3:30 p.m.
