Martin ties saves record in Foresters win

A day after clinching their eighth straight California Collegiate League title, the Santa Barbara Foresters stayed focused and finished up a series sweep of the Conejo Oaks with an 8-3 win in Thousand Oaks on Thursday.First baseman Walker Moore reached base four times, going 2-for-3 with three runs scored and a stolen base. 2010 Santa Barbara Open champion Marissa Mar chips onto the 18th green at SBGC on Thursday.

Davis' Marissa Mar claimed this year's Santa Barbara Women's Open on Thursday, shooting a 73 at Santa Barbara Golf Club that put her in front of challengers Fumie Sato and Sasha Cruz.Cruz entered the day with a one-stroke lead over Sato and Mar after carding a 76 at Sandpiper Golf Course on Wednesday. Scarvelis, Fernandez net top-10 finishes at JOs

Gaucho wins U23 national title with club team

UCSB senior forward Kylie McDonald helped the Camarillo Eagles win the Under-23 title at the U.S. National Soccer Championships in Overland Park, Kan.The Eagles defeated Arizona Rush Nike 2-1 in the final to become only the second women’s team in history to win three age-group national titles.
