Trevor Madden hit a two-run, walk-off homer in the bottom of the eighth inning that gave Carpinteria's baseball team an 8-6 comeback win over visiting St. Bonaventure on Thursday. Camille Wissman won the 200 freestyle and 100 butterfly on Thursday as the Santa Barbara High girls swimmers defeated San Marcos 104-79 on Thursday. Wind blows game away from Chargers

A gust of wind made a big difference in Dos Pueblos' softball game on Friday.The Chargers had a 4-1 lead over first-place Buena, but a pop-up to the shortstop in the fifth inning blew all the way back in front of the pitcher's circle and ended up bouncing to the dirt. Since the bases were loaded with two outs, the runners were going no matter what and three runs scored.
