Dos Pueblos sophomore golfer Vanesa Villa had a big weekend in Los Angeles, winning the five-player A-Flight at the 60th annual L.A. Junior Golf Championships.Playing rounds at both Encino and Balboa Golf Courses, Villa put up scores of 82, 88 and 84 to edge Arcadia’s Hillary Kao by two strokes. Charlie Taylor and Tim Illgen went 2-1 in doubles play but Villanova overpowered Bishop Diego on Tuesday in a Frontier League tennis match. Local sisters Cara and Katie Spieler won this weekend's California Beach Volleyball Association AA Tournament in Hermosa Beach to earn an AAA-rating — the highest achievable.Cara, 19, played for Jon Lee at San Marcos and now plays for Tufts University in Boston.
