UCSB’s Doolittle does a lot in Seattle

UCSB’s Jane Doolittle cleared 5-11.5 (1.82m) in the high jump at the Husky Classic, setting a new personal best and meeting the NCAA provisional qualifying standard. Saturday’s meet took place at Dempsey Indoor at the University of Washington.

Doolittle only needed two attempts to clear 1.82m and improve upon her personal best by four centimeters. She was the winner of the competition, which included more than 35 athletes and featured a talented field. Going into this weekend, Doolittle’s clearance would place her at eighth in the entire NCAA.

Doolittle will now await the selections for the NCAA Indoor Championships, which will be held March 12-13 in Fayetteville, Ark.

The 2010 outdoor track & field season will begin for the Gauchos next weekend, with the Gaucho Round-Up on Saturday, Feb. 20 at UCSB’s Pauley Track.
