A letter to our readers…

PresidioSports.com is proud to announce the creation of a new “Youth Sports” section on Santa Barbara’s only online sports page.

While our energies are mostly focused on the scholastic sports from our local high schools and colleges, PresidioSports.com is committed to expanding its coverage to include all of Santa Barbara’s athletic endeavors. That means covering athletes of any age, in any sport, and at any level.

And as the expanse of our coverage has grown, it has become clear to us that Santa Barbara craves a forum to recognize the sporting accomplishments of its youth.

Over the last year, we’ve enjoyed publishing articles on various local youth teams. Reports have followed teams competing in soccer, volleyball, tennis, baseball, fencing, football, swimming, softball and more.

In the past, these youth stories have been categorized under their respective sports and sometimes hard to find among the high school and college reports. Now, with its own dedicated section, the youth sports scene in Santa Barbara has its own stage to shine on.

As mentioned before, PresidioSports.com is committed to expanding its coverage. Look for more video interviews, written columns and feature stories in the coming months.

Other recent additions to our local sports coverage include Randy Weiss’ “WeissCrax“, teenage surfer Lakey Peterson’s “Lakey’s Lines,” a Facebook FanBox and a special events calendar so that our readers can find something fun to do on the weekend.

Also, our readers might like to know that we will be crossing the 400,000 visitor threshold sometime during the first week of March and will reach 500,000 by the end of the school year. The number of daily visits has increased two-fold in our second year and our momentum has no end in sight.

PresidioSports.com has even more improvements planned in the near future, so stay tuned. If you wish to help us improve our coverage, donations from the community are welcome and will enable us to cover more events in person.

As always, we’d love to hear what you think. Feel free to share your thoughts on the comment board below.

Thanks Santa Barbara!
