For not having played in a couple of weeks because of the rain, Santa Barbara High’s boys soccer team looked pretty sharp in the first 20 minutes of its key Channel League match against Dos Pueblos on Thursday.Running on all cylinders, the CIF Division 2 top-ranked Dons got goals from Christian Pardo and Fernando Alvarado in the first 10 minutes before cooling off and settling for a 2-1 victory over the Chargers in a rescheduled afternoon game at Peabody Stadium. Royals look strong in loss to Fountain Valley

Thursday's 5-3 loss to No. 9 Fountain Valley provided a measuring stick for the improvement of the San Marcos girls water polo team. Dos Pueblos' wrestling squad picked up a 54-21 win over Santa Barbara's up-and-coming program on Thursday. Warrior hoopsters take over second place

Amanda Burch scored 21 points and Caitlin Wallace added 17 on Thursday as the Carpinteria girls basketball team took sole possession of second place in the Frontier League with a 43-21 win over Malibu.Wallace added 11 rebounds, five assists and a steal, while Sierra Freeman had five steals.
