Freeman finishes second to WR in 100 breaststroke
UCSB alum Katy Freeman continued her impressive work at the U.S. Open Swimming Championships with a personal-best time in the 100-meter breaststroke Friday night.Freeman, a former UCSB swimmer now competing for Santa Barbara Aquatics, placed second in the race with a finish of 1 minute, 5.35 seconds.Jessica Hardy won the race in a world-record time of 1:04.45, her second world record in two days. … [Read more...]

In a vote of the Big West men's soccer coaches, UCSB was tabbed the favorite to claim the league championship it was announced today.UCSB claimed the top position after collecting 45 points, which included four first place votes. Seniors Martin Hedevag (3 g, 2 a) and David Walker (3 g, 1 a) return to lead UCSB in its quest for the conference crown. Local players lift underdog Fusion to PDL title

A fusion of local collegiate soccer standouts was a big factor in the Ventura County Fusion’s championship season in the United Soccer League’s Premier Developmental League. Foresters make annual hospital visit in Wichita

More important than any of the baseball being played at the NBC World Series in Wichita is the work that was done by the Santa Barbara Foresters Friday, as they visited pediatric patients at Via Christi St. Francis Hospital bearing gifts and smiles.The team, which has been making the visits for 15 years, delivered teddy bears, books and toy cars to children of all ages with all sorts of serious illnesses. … [Read more...]

Foresters fall to Broncos 4-3
WICHITA — The Santa Barbara Foresters lost their first game of the National Baseball Congress World Series, falling to the El Dorado Broncos 4-3 Monday night at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium."It was a great baseball game and our guys battled, but we just came up short.
