SBCC picked up where it left off on the golf course last year by grabbing a two-stroke lead Sunday after the first round of the South Coast Classic at par-70 Buenaventura GC in Ventura. The defending state champion women's team shot 321, two strokes better than Bakersfield.Vaquero sophomore Asaka Sim, the reigning individual state champ, carded a 76 and is in third place, three strokes behind the leader.
