SBVC 16-Blue takes bronze in Miami

The Santa Barbara Volleyball Club’s 16-Blue team went down fighting this week at the Junior Olympics in Miami, finishing with a bronze medal.

After downing Northern Lights of Minnesota 25-16, 25-16, the squad blew past San Francisco Juniors 25-10, 25-10.

Next up was as semifinal match against the eventual gold medalist, Impact 16 Bryan, which Santa Barbara defeated 25-14 in the first set before dropping the next two 25-12, 15-13.

Assistant coach Dwayne Hauschild highlighted terrific defensive performances by Emma Campbell and Morgan Slater, while Paige Crane and Eve Ettinger brought home All-American honors.
