Kirkwood clears 6-4 for Mt. Sac medal
Bennie Kirkwood of San Marcos won the high jump during the day meet down at the Mt. SAC Relays Saturday, clearing a height of 6-4 on his first attempt. As a result, he was invited to the prestigious evening meet, where he cleared the same height.
Hannah McDaniel took third place in the girls high jump by clearing 5-2. In the relays, the San Marcos girls took a strong 11th in the distance medley, as Kalley Ridgway, Lexi Spaulding, Jenny Haden and Daniele Gemberling clocked in at 12:47.04. The Royals’ 4×400 squad (below) ran a 4:11.21 and earned a bronze medal in the day meet.
