Passing had been a problem for the Bishop Diego boys volleyball team over the past week. Isacc Cervantes hit a 3-run homer in the first inning and Carpinteria exploded for 14 hits in Thursday's 12-2 baseball win over visiting Marist from Oregon.Nathan Saito had two hits, including a double, while pitching a complete-game 3-hitter, striking out five while walking only one. SBCC won six more singles games than it did in the first meeting with Ventura but the Pirates still posted a 9-0 men's tennis victory on Thursday.
