McFarland shines with shutout for Vaqueros
Blake McFarland turned in SBCC's best pitching performance of the year on Tuesday -- a four-hit shutout at Ventura. No. 21 Aztecs hand Gauchos third consecutive loss
The UC Santa Barbara baseball team dropped its third straight game on Tuesday, this one a 7-4 loss to No. 21 San Diego State at Caesar Uyesaka Stadium. Russo wins medal at fencing tourney in San Jose
Four fencers from Presidio Fencing Club (www.presidiofencing.com) competed in the Paul Pesthy Memorial Super Youth Tournament in San Jose last weekend. It was a very difficult tournament, drawing some of the top youth athletes from around the country.Sophie Russo, who is currently ranked 25th nationally in her age group, triumphed with the bronze medal in the Youth 12 Womens Foil event. This past weekend the Santa Barbara Volleyball Club 18’s, 15’s and 12’s teams competed in Anaheim at a regular Mandatory tournament. Today was the second stop on my comeback tour, a CCCX race this time at Toro Cyn Park, which is right across Hwy 68 from the Sea Otter course.
