Nick Wagner defeated Buena's Julian Ferguson 8-3 in the finals to claim the CIF heavyweight wrestling title Saturday at Pacifica High in Oxnard. It was the first time in four attempts that Wagner had beaten Ferguson."It was great. Freshman James Nunnally made a handful of what coach Bob Williams referred to as "gamer plays" on Saturday night at the Thunderdome as the UCSB men's basketball team won its season-high fourth straight game in a thrilling 78-71 overtime decision over Montana State.Nunnally scored 12 of his 14 points after halftime, including all five of his rebounds and all four assists. No. 19 UC Santa Barbara was handed a pair of losses on Saturday, the first day of the UC Irvine Invitational. The Gauchos fell to No. 1 USC, 16-3, and No. 7 UC Davis, 10-6, at UCI's Anteater Pool.With the losses, UCSB falls to 4-5 overall this season.
