Aaron Bauman ignited SBCC's offense with a three-run homer in the first inning Monday afternoon and made a spectacular defensive play in the third for the Vaqueros, who went on to beat L.A. Carpinteria's girls soccer team allowed Fillmore only four shots on Monday, but the Flashes converted two of them into goals. LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Junior Anne Marie May captured first-place in both the 50 and 100 freestyle events while senior Chris Good turned in the top finish in both the 200 backstroke and 200 individual medley during a dual meet at UNLV on Saturday afternoon. BAKERSFIELD - Krista Aruse drove the length of the court with eight seconds left and scooped a layup in to give Cal State Bakersfield a stunning 69-67 victory over the UCSB women's basketball team, ending the Gauchos' 10-game winning streak.Down three points, Lauren Pedersen was fouled on a three-point attempt with 8.0 seconds left. The 16 Blue, 17 Blue and 18 Blue teams opened their season by winning their first qualifying rounds of the Southern California Volleyball Association this past weekend.On Saturday, the 16 Blue team coached by Jake Hong and assisted by Dwayne Hauschild won all three of the matches earning themselves a bye through the second qualifying round of the Gold bracket.
