Person adds six more in victory

Playing a night-game on a muddy field at Carpinteria High School, the Cate Rams scored a 54-38 win over a CIF-ranked opponent in Montclair Prep thanks to another monster game for running back Randy Person.Person scored six touchdowns for the second time this season and also had a great night at cornerback. UCSB soccer coach Tim Vom Steeg was ticked off, and not only because the Gauchos had just lost 3-1 to UC Irvine (10-1-6, 3-1-4) at Harder Stadium.He was also ticked because of a call that the two-time NCAA Coach of the Year described as "inexcusable".UCSB's David Walker made a stellar run in the 22nd minute, and was grabbed by the shirt and held by an Irvine defender near the top of the box."It's an automatic red card. Royals spikers stopped in tourney final

The San Marcos girls volleyball team put together a deep run at the Redondo Power Tournament over Halloween weekend, winning three matches before falling to West Torrance in the final on Saturday evening.The Royals beat Vista and Burroughs on Friday and came back Saturday morning to sweep Torrance in the semifinal. NORTHRIDGE - The UCSB men's and women's swim teams opened the 2008-09 season with a dual meet victory over Big West Conference foe Cal State Northridge on Saturday afternoon at Matador Pool. Westmont hangs with Waves in exhibition
