Gauchos crushed by undefeated Redbirds

UCSB ’s Jesse Byrd had his best game as a Gaucho in the World Vision Invitational championship game on Sunday, but it wasn’t nearly enough to bring down host Illinois State, who improved to 7-0 with the 87-59 victory.

MALIBU – The No. 7 UCSB men’s water polo team took fifth-place at the 2008 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championship Tournament with a 9-7 overtime victory against No. 10 UC Irvine on Sunday afternoon at Pepperdine’s Raleigh Runnels Memorial Pool.
